Examples:

• A hobby such as velodrome cycling
• Workplace thing such as the presidents’ club of top salespeople

Status groups have unique traits:

• Codes (like dress codes, right and wrong clothing)
• Conventions (the way people behave)
• Members (informal or formal)
• Symbols (brands, items or traits to symbolize membership)
